Maryland Micro-Credentials for
Creative Classrooms

#mcreds are the suite of competency-based professional learning courses for Arts Educators and Community Teaching Artists.

Participants personalize their professional learning by selecting topics based on their own needs and interests. Successful completion results in a Professional Endorsement from the Maryland State Arts Council and one (1) MSDE Continuing Professional Development credit.

All courses are presented free of cost to Maryland residents, educators working in Maryland schools, and community teaching artists working in Maryland communities.

Course topics include:

How do I get a Maryland Micro-Credential for Creative Classrooms?
Learning through the Creative Process is the pre-requisite course. Once completed, participants are able to personalize their professional learning by:

  1. Selecting courses based on their own professional needs and interests,

  2. Attending synchronous virtual sessions, and

  3. Completing asynchronous work and submitting proof of completion.

Who is eligible for these courses?
Maryland residents, arts educators working in Maryland schools, and community/teaching artists working in Maryland communities are eligible for Maryland Micro-Credentials for Creative Classrooms.
