201: Veteran Ready Community Arts Provider Training

Course Overview:
The Veteran Ready Community Arts Provider Training course prepares community arts providers and arts educators to develop, implement, and evaluate meaningful programming for Veterans, military personnel, and their family members.

How do I get a Micro-Credential?
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive an endorsement in Veteran-Ready Community Arts. Maryland Art Educators are eligible for 1 CPD credit. Successful completion requires attendance at both sessions and completion of independent work.

Course facilitators are available between sessions for support through digital office hours.

Facilitator Bios

Judy Rollins, PhD, RN

With 30+ years’ experience in research, consulting, program development, and education, Dr. Rollins is
an established leader on arts in health.  She has authored more than 100 academic publications, and is a
Scholar at The Institute for Integrative Health in Baltimore and adjunct faculty at Georgetown University
school of Medicine.  Dr. Rollins was the primary author of Arts, Health and Well-Being across the Military
Continuum: White Paper and Framing a National Plan of Action.

JW Rone

JW Rone, Director of Veteran Initiatives for the Institute for Integrative Health, brings more than 30
years’ experience in theatrical arts, including work that focuses on arts in education. While serving
during the Vietnam War, Rone produced live entertainment for active duty soldiers serving in combat
zones. As the head of Vet Arts Connect, Rone has created countless arts and nature experiences for the
veteran community. He also plays a mean ukulele.
